Kartonnen domotica huis voor Hogeschool Scalda

At Kartent, we were commissioned to create a unique project for Scalda University of Applied Sciences in Terneuzen: a cardboard house fully designed around the theme of home automation. An innovative and educational project that combines sustainability and technology.

The house is designed as an educational model that allows students to learn hands-on about smart technologies in residential construction. The cardboard house includes solar panels, PCMs (phase-change energy storage materials), electronics, sensors, and other technical gadgets that illustrate the operation of a modern, automated home.

All components have been carefully integrated into the design and custom-made, ensuring the house is both visually appealing and functional. Constructed from sturdy, recyclable cardboard, the house provides a durable and surprisingly robust base for the teaching materials.

What makes this project particularly special is the combination of circular materials and innovative technology. Together with Scalda, we're creating a learning environment where students learn not only about technology but also about sustainability and circularity.

Thanks to Scalda for your trust and the wonderful collaboration! We're thrilled to see cardboard being used as an educational tool for the future.
