Sustainable and circular

It won't surprise you: sustainability and circularity are in our DNA and form the foundation of Kartent, with our unique cardboard festival tent as the cardboard hero. For us, sustainability means environmentally conscious design, creative reuse, and minimizing waste. We also strive to reuse materials as much as possible: for example, a stool may have previously served as a trade show wall, and we encourage reuse whenever possible.

Sustainability

We strive to have a positive impact on the environment together with our customers by using cardboard as an alternative to traditional materials like plastic, wood, and steel, and we prioritize recycling and reuse of materials as much as possible.

Material

Our cardboard is made of at least 73% recycled material, supplemented with new FSC-certified wood fibers. We make optimal use of residual materials (striving for NO residual materials).

Custom made

Our cardboard products can be customized to the specific needs of our (business) customers, from exhibition stands and promotional materials to interior design and custom-made panels.

No overproduction

After you place your order, we get started right away. Your product is cut specifically for you using our cutting machine. This means we avoid overproduction and unnecessary inventory.

Light weight

Our products are lightweight and easy to transport and install, making them ideal for mobile and temporary applications such as events and pop-up stores.

Quality

Our products are manufactured from sturdy recyclable cardboard and are continuously tested, developed and improved.

Product development

Our products are conceived and designed by our cardboard creatives, taking optimal account of the use of residual materials, packaging, and efficient transport.

Locally produced

All our products are produced locally in Amsterdam as much as possible.

Cardboard is inherently circular because it's made from renewable resources like wood fiber and is highly recyclable. After use, cardboard can be easily collected, processed, and repurposed into new cardboard products without losing any of its quality.

This process can be repeated multiple times, making cardboard a sustainable and circular material that fits perfectly within a circular economy. Moreover, cardboard is biodegradable, meaning that even if it does accidentally end up in nature, it won't cause long-term environmental damage.

When we think of sustainability, we consider the entire life cycle of a product, compared to a comparable "linear" alternative. For example, plastic has a significantly higher ecological footprint during production than cardboard.

Based on our mission and vision, we are committed to:
