For Monumentaal we were allowed to make a Big fist on honeycomb. Our cardboard had the honor to play the role of 'Clenched fist 1' in the play MONUMENTAAL, a theater production by Sadettin Kırmızıyüz. They write this about it themselves:

MONUMENTAAL is a solo by a 40-year-old bi-cultural theatre-making father who wants to mean something to his children in the 21st century.

Over the past fifteen years, Sadettin has made performances in which the stories and lives of his family symbolized major social and political themes such as identity, migration, integration and cultural plurality. Monuments for his family that described the history of migrants in the Netherlands and thus also an important part of the history of the Netherlands itself. About his father and mother, the Turkish migrant workers from the 1970s. About his brother, sister and finally himself, the migrant children who had to integrate at all costs in an increasingly less hospitable Netherlands in the 1980s and 1990s. At the same time, they were never allowed to deny their Turkish and Islamic identity and origins.
